Tiny unique book shop in historic district
Although The Book Gallery has no web site, this small store is a treasure. Located in a dusty old storefront in historic downtown McKinney, the atmosphere is one of pages softly turning, readers curled up in the worn leather chairs and sunshine drifting in the windows. The building is remarkable and the collection is instriguing, too: first editions, used classics and plenty of dog-earred Texas history. The owner perches behind an antique desk with a small dog curled up on his feet. You can smell fresh coffee. There is a wine bar across the street. Trees wave outside. What else do you want in a book store?
