Hiking in Dallas TX area

Dallas Nature Center has some decent dayhiking in the Dallas area out on the westmost side of Duncanville. The trails all look super short but have some up and down to them with some of the terrain much like the TX Hill Country out west of Austing and NW of San Antonio. At the end of the longest trail is a cat tail pond that can be very tranquil and scenic on a spring to fall day. There is a large overlook at one ridge that one can climb up on to see Joe Pool lake to the West a bit with a nice view from above the treetops. Its not the most stellar hiking I have ever done but it really is probably easily the best in the area when you want to get out and only have half a day or so for it or if you don't want to drive very far.
